I know, I know, things have been a little dry around these parts. What can I say I got busy, life was in overdrive, I had to redo my floors (*ahem I'm a midtown renter ahem*), the dog ate my homework...stop... In all honesty I've been focusing on wrapping my pretty little natural hair vintage loving head around what it means to be an entrepreneur (if you missed it I opened an online vintage boutique over HERE). Thus, my lovely little piece of internet reality got tabled. Alas, it's a new year and, dare I say it, a new me. I've refound my passion for writing and sharing it with the masses and I've rediscovered my love of the electic fashion life.
Expect some new things to emerge on that's so chic. Hopefully I haven't lost all of my wonderful readers, and for those who just happened to find me cause I had a I LOVE KATE SPADE moment last year, or I gave my previous little heart over to sephora and ulta during the spring and had copious beauty posts, WELCOME. There is soo much more thrift amour posts up my sleeve, interior loves to share, and of course beauty crushes to be had.
Check out my guest post on KPFusion where I offer 10 thrifting tips to make everyone a super chic thrifter.
How urber chic is this remix that Chasity of The Curvy's Girls Guide to Style created. This is super smart and a wonderful display of celebrity style on a realistic budget. I loved this look soo much that I have been inspired to recreate my own.
The folks at EatSleepDenim have given us another great showcase of how to wear denim: black and denim parings. I am utterly in love with the leather peplum top with the cuffed boyfriend jeans. The mix of black with denim creates a chic and polished look.
A pair and a spare continues to amaze with beautiful DIY projects. This sequin blazer looks so easy to do and is a great transitional piece from summer to fall. Another DIY project and I am soo up for the challenge. Are you?
Andrea Fenise is spot on with this celeb inspired look for less. She took a men's wear inspired look worn by a celeb and styled it so that the everyday woman can wear. This look oozes weekend chic and is another great seasonal transition look.
While Channing of channinginthecity is away, she has collaborated with blogging friends to create a series of fabulous guest posts. The latest contributor is Sereeda from eclechick.com. She offers up a super cute tutorial on how to create a cotton candy dot mani complete with tips on polish secrets and step-by-step pictures to assist us in creating this beauty.

Are you looking to expand your fashion or beauty blogging resume or do you have a fabulous lifestyle and would love to be featured on a popular style blog, well you should hustle over to kisforkinky.com. They are currently offering two really exciting opportunities.
Opportunity #1
For those naturalistas who have a superb personal style and a super cool home, there is the chance to be featured on kisforkinky.com. The ladies behind the site are hitting the road and getting out to meet readers in their home cities. Alas, only certain cities are scheduled on this inaugural road trip (sadly my city is not). They will be visiting cities in the the continental US and internationally such as NYC, Miami, San Francisco, Houston, and South Africa. If you are located in one of the chosen cities and wish to be featured, send an email to submissions@kisforkinky.com. Include eight pictures and be available to shoot between September and October 2012. For all the requirements on submitting please visit their post at kisforkinky.com
*bonus* All is not lost for those of us whose hometowns are not currently included on their road trip stops. They suggest even if your city is not listed you should still submit as more cities will be added.
Opportunity #2
Looking to gain exposure in the beauty and fashion industry or are looking to build your beauty and fashion blogging and editorial resume, kisforkinky.com is currently looking for an editorial assistant/intern, and beauty and fashion contributors. All positions have specific requirements. The most important are that the editorial assistant/intern must live in the Los Angles area, and those interested in being beauty and fashion contributors must have active blogs with 2 to 3 weekly postings. You can view the full requirments here.
These opportunities from the ladies of kisforkinky.com are soo exciting. No matter which one(s) you are going after, I wish you the best and GOOD LUCK! :)
This blog began as my outlet to share my passion for a fashionable lifestyle. As I have gone on this journey I have deepened my understanding and drive towards my love for all things stylish not too mention soo many opportunities have come my way. I am soo excited to share with you all the many different projects that I am involved in and will hopefully soon be opening my online store.
I truly hope that the site is more stream lined and less cluttered. As always, as I grow, so will this blog, so this will forever be a work in progress. I am excited to offer new types of posts and resurface some oldie but goodies that I sort of have fallen by the wayside. With a new name, depicting the essence of who I am and what the blog is about, I am excited to continue to bring beauty and style tips that are budget friendly and that are so chic.
