That's So Chic

Temps are way too high and mentally I'm already into autumn and trying to dress myself as such. Unfortunately, my body is still in summer so to marry the  two, my love of darker black pieces & + 90^o, I'm fixated on breathable clothing. These City Chic bottoms and Zara tops are perfect for the warmer months and will transition great in to fall. Also Zara is having their seasonal sale. There are a ton of great pieces up for grabs including these tops.

All my social media outlets have been buzzing since early this morning about the announcement made about Target's new plus size line AVA + VIV.  Last year, Target was put on blast by many bloggers and stylistas, where I talked about it here, for it's lack of, what used to be a pretty vast plus size offerings. Not to mention ongoing abysmal plus size pieces in its designer collaborations. With the new line, bloggers Nicolette Manson, Gabi, and Chasity, were tapped by the store to provide feedback and be involved in the announcement of the collection. Gabi... lawd this woman, she is just EVERYTHING. I have followed her throughout the years, when she first started blogging at Black, Fat & Fabulousness renamed to the now Gabifresh. Her style is undeniable and she, without a doubt, is literally one of the icon plus-size fashion bloggers. Most recently she has launched a 2nd collection of BEAGORGEOUS bathing suits with a no hold barred approach. Below are my favorite looks for the collection. Newish (new to me that is) online store Custom Plus offers some great pieces from sizes small to 4X. If you see something, its offered in your size. This is unlike most retailers that stock a completely desperate plus section. There is something beautiful for everyone. Check out their site for the full range of items currently offered.

Let me rewind the last couple of months before I jump into what this post is really about.

The internet was set a blaze from January to current, over Target's blunders concerning its plus size section. From labeling items "manatee grey", using a pregnant model for plus size items, to the sudden disappearance of plus size section all together, they really let a lot of ladies down. Including your's truly.

Well fast forward to my weekly Target shopping spree, yes "Hi my name is Ariane and I am a Target Addict, I came across some interesting pieces of clothes. They were just laying there, stuck off in the corner, behind the maternity clothes and the clearance section, waiting for little old me to discover them. It appears that the mysterious placard stating "Women's Plus: COUNTDOWN TO NEW" had some substance to it. Maybe they are testing the waters before the actual launch occurs. For now we will have to wait and see. Below are some of my favorite items currently being offered in stores.
