Product Review // YSL Pur Rouge Couture Lipsticks

by - 12:29 PM

Though matte lippies will forever be bae, I still adore a good moisturizing lipstick. You know cause some days the lips are just not having it and are in utter protest of having anything matte on them. To switch things up I have been using two YSL lipsticks that were sent to me c/o Infuenster. Both are from the Rouge Pur Couture collection are in the colors 9 Rose Stiletto and  19 Fuchsia retailing about $36.

Swatches of the fuchsia on top and rose stiletto on bottom

Closer look of both the rose stiletto and fuchsia swatches. I actually had to really layer them on, as though these have good pigment, they are somewhat on the shear side.

Top two pictures are the rose stiletto and bottom two are the fuchsia. The rose stiletto rouge pur couture I found to be a very mauvish and on the nude side, which I love thank you. This is a good everyday lipstick and also perfect for a very natural and neutral makeup look. So pretty and very flattering.

The fuchia option I had to play more with as my lips have more pigmentation compared to my complexion. After lining and priming my peckers I was able to get better coverage than the initial sheer wash. The color is really pretty also, but it is indeed something I know I would not reach for as often compared to the rose stiletto.

Bonus products //

revlon lip butter, revlon creme brulee milani spice lip pencil, lip pencils for women of color, maybeline lip pencil

maybeline lip pencil in pink milani spice lip pencil

These products are soo clutch and really help me make my lipstick pop. I have been riding pretty hard for Revlon's Creme Brulee for a while. It is perfect by itself and I use it as a base color especially for touch-ups when I do not have the time to power or cover my lips in concealer (re: aforementioned pigmentation issue #browngirlwoes). Also Milani's lip pencil in spice gets alot of mileage. It is great to punch up any nude look & is also super close to my lip color. It use it when I do not have a lip liner in shade similar to a lipstick, as was the case in point for the YSL Rouge Pur Couture. I use the Mayebline liner to fill in my lips before applying the fuchsia lippie.
