Macy's tribute to the Soul Era, Memphis Edition |
For BHM2015 Macy's held The Soul Era events around the country. In cities such as NYC and Atlanta, stylist, designer, rock mom, and everybody's aunty in their head June Ambrose and celebrity costume designer Johnetta Boone held panel discussions and showcased styles for the 60s and 70s era. Though they did not make a stop in my fair city of Memphis, we still got in on the fun. I along with my friend and photographer Elle Perry checked out the local Macy's event hosed by designer, lifestyle blogger, and Memphian Andrea Fenise . The event was filled with fashion, performances, food, and styles of the 60s and 70s. Students and faculty from STAX Music Academy preformed hits from the Soul Era and Bridging Soul Production gave a performance that got the audience involved in dancing to the hits. I was able to catch several looks, that were styled by Andrea Fenise featuring denim, jumpsuits, and flowy dresses depicting beautiful looks from the Soul Era. To top if off Dindie's Soul catered: cornbread, greens, candied yams...YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
