I thrift, A LOT.  Over the years I have grown to be more intentional in the pieces I source and have developed an eye for quality items. Given that the thrift store has my heart, I have acquired a good share of vintage and pre-loved items in my home. I took a stroll throughout my abode taking a rather thorough look at decor, clothing, and accessories I have sourced. I have identified out my most loved second hand pieces of 2019 and want to share them with you all.

Let's take a deep dive into my favorite pieces. Most are vintage, but a few a fairly more modern. I want to chat a bit, giving you the deats on like where I got them, why I had to have them, and tips on how to source similar items if you so fancy. In order to not make  a thousand years long post, I'm going to break it up my pieces into multiple posts, style, accessories, and home decor. Today I'm dishing all the nitty gritty on my favorite clothing pieces.

Jackets //

One thing I will always, ALWAYS look for in a thrift store are blazers. Insider tip, the one place that you absolutely have to look at while in a thrift store is in men's. Hear me out. Men's suiting is just tailored beautifully. The cuts, the lapels, the linings, the hidden pockets is just too good. Also, given that far more men wear structured business wear, there will always be a ton of options and you are bound to find some great pieces.

I sourced this Givenchy Blazer from a local Goodwill. I loved the boning, the brown grey tone it has, and the structure of the shoulder is TO DIE FOR. This looks great worn as suiting, but I love to wear it with a pair of jeans or super casual with a pair of joggers as shown below.

Another great spot of second hand pieces are consignment stores. Consignment stores are great at getting designer pieces for a fraction of the cost. I picked up this beautiful cropped  Diane Von Furstenberg jacket from my favorite consignment store Sugar Plum Consignments.

Consignment shopping is a frugal option, but do not go in expecting thrift store prices. Many of the pieces are from  high-end designer brands so you are going to find items at higher price points. That is true with this jacket. I saw the price, tried her on and it WAS OVER.  The structure, the details of the boning, and  the bell sleeves, I had to have it. My feelings were hurt. However, I saved a lot as compared to full price. This jacket retailed for about $500, I paid about a third of the cost.

Tips: Look in the men's section | Look at the lining of the garment | Try it on to ensure you have good arm length

Tops //

I have been on the hunt for some great camisoles for a while now. I would check all of my favorite thrift stores with no luck. The one section I had been neglecting to check was lingerie. I started to take peaks there and low and behold I had been missing out. I found this super beautiful camisole. I want to add a few more so I will most definitely keep a look out in this section for now on.

Skirts //

I adore pencil skirts, like ADORE. They are such a timeless and simple garment that can instantly add a touch of refinement to any look. A good pencil skirt just makes a look more put together. This canary yellow skirt is just such a special piece. The fabric is what really caught my eye.

It is always a good day when you source some vintage St. John Knits. I actually almost didn't get this skirt. The fabric caught my eye, as I was looking for some more cold weather pieces. However, I could see it was not as long as I would have liked. I peeked at the tag and immediately put it in my cart. I am excited to style this bad boy up,  now that we are moving into warmer weather.

Tips: Look in the lingerie section | Look at fabric material | Look at the label if marked. Do not be afraid to google a brand you are not familiar with
